      The Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation has approved an updated heating supply scheme for Nizhny Novgorod for 2026. This was reported by the Department of Housing and Engineering Infrastructure of the city administration.

      According to the information provided, the heating supply scheme is a pre-design document that defines the directions for the development of the city's heat supply system. It takes into account requirements in the field of energy conservation and increasing energy efficiency, and is also based on territorial planning documents approved within the framework of urban planning legislation.

      First Deputy Head of the Nizhny Novgorod Administration Denis Skalkin noted that such schemes are developed for a period of at least 15 years and are subject to annual updating. According to him, the purpose of the document is to ensure reliable, high-quality and economically efficient heat supply for both the population and industrial consumers.

      The draft scheme for 2026 was presented at a meeting of the commission of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation. Representatives of the administration, resource-supplying organizations and the document's developers took part in the discussion. Following the meeting, the scheme was approved by Ministry of Energy order No. 195td.

      Earlier it was reported that the heating season in Nizhny Novgorod may begin earlier than usual. Trial boiler runs began on September 2 and will continue until September 10.
