      Police detained an 18-year-old resident of Vyksa who is accused of murdering his mother. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      According to law enforcement, the crime was committed in an apartment on Novaya Street. The young man inflicted multiple hammer blows to the head of his 45-year-old mother, after which he fled. The victim died from her injuries.

      The killer was found in the shortest possible time. It turned out he had tried to avoid responsibility by hiding in the settlement of Oktyabrsky in the Arkhangelsk Region. He was pulled out of a business trip and taken to the investigative authorities.

      The press service of the Investigative Committee’s investigative department in the Nizhny Novgorod Region said that a criminal case has been opened in connection with the incident. The body of the deceased was found two weeks after the crime by her brother. The man had been worried because the woman was not answering his calls.

      The detainee has been remanded in custody. Investigators are establishing the circumstances of the incident and gathering evidence of his guilt.
