      From September 3, 2025, a new national standard GOST R 71582-2024 concerning school clothing will come into force in Russia. The document introduces general technical norms that students' uniforms must meet.

      As NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" was told by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Nizhny Novgorod schools will be able to independently develop requirements for the appearance, style and color scheme of the school uniform. At the same time, educational organizations must take into account the opinions of parents and the students themselves.

      The aim of the standard is to improve the quality of school clothing. The document specifies permissible levels of hygroscopicity and air permeability of fabrics, as well as limits on the content of free formaldehyde. In addition, it sets requirements for material strength, color fastness and the quality of fittings.

      The ministry also noted that the standard does not regulate a single cut or color of clothing. It only emphasizes that the uniform should be secular, neat and not contain symbols of informal or antisocial associations.

      ANO "Center 800" clarified that a single uniform for all schools in the region will not be introduced in 2025. Recall that sketches of the new school uniform for students in the Nizhny Novgorod Region were presented in the spring.

      Earlier it was reported that on September 1 a school for 1,600 pupils opened in the "Zenit" residential complex in Nizhny Novgorod. In addition, new additional academic buildings were constructed for School No. 188 and School No. 96 of Nizhny Novgorod.
