On Saturday, the motor track of SShOR "Salut" hosted the third stage of the Russian Championship and Cup in supercross, the MMT Russian Grand Prix. Sixty athletes from different parts of the country — from Vladivostok to Kaliningrad — took part. "The recent competition became a real sports celebration for Dzerzhinsk. I am confident that such events will inspire boys and girls to take up sports. And we will certainly continue to develop sports infrastructure so that every resident of Dzerzhinsk can find an activity to their liking. Thanks to the fans for their support! Good luck to the athletes and coaches!" said the head of the city, Mikhail Klinkov. "Dzerzhinsk’s SShOR 'Salut' motocross track this Saturday confirmed its status as one of the best tracks in Russia. Sixty athletes from across the country fought for victory as part of the third stage of the Russian Championship and Cup in supercross, the MMT Russian Grand Prix! The geography of participants is impressive: from Vladivostok to Kaliningrad! Of course, we eagerly awaited these competitions and prepared thoroughly for them. The track is equipped with 12 elements, including complex structures that meet all standards: the 'Trapeze', the 'Gap Jump' and 'Specialized Whoops' for slowing down. A modern watering system has also been installed to ensure proper track conditions and the safety of the athletes. The area is fenced, and a grandstand with 142 spectator seats has been installed. I thank all the residents of Dzerzhinsk who voted for the creation of the mototrack in 2022 as part of the 'You Decide!' project when the track was first being built, and in 2024, thanks to which it is actively developing. We can confidently speak about the revival of motocross in Dzerzhinsk. The visionaries and organizers of this sport are the Fedorov father and son. The younger, Alexander, not only coaches the kids at SShOR 'Salut' but also serves as an example to them by competing and achieving strong results. The Minister of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Dmitry Kabaylo, noted that holding all-Russian level motocross competitions in Dzerzhinsk is an indication that motorsport in the Nizhny Novgorod Region is developing at a high level. Dzerzhinsk has a strong motorcycle school, and the new track, according to experts, is one of the best in Russia. As part of the #motonafront campaign at these competitions, Dmitry Sergeyevich handed a cross-country motorcycle over to the SVO zone so that our fighters could move quickly across rough terrain, and thanked everyone who participated in its acquisition. The recent competition became a real sports celebration for Dzerzhinsk. I am confident that such events will inspire boys and girls to take up sports. And we will certainly continue to develop sports infrastructure so that every resident of Dzerzhinsk can find an activity to their liking. Thanks to the fans for their support! Good luck to the athletes and coaches!"
