      In Volodarsk, Gorodets and Tonshaevsky District, more than 1,400 young residents of Nizhny Novgorod will go to school in schools that have undergone major renovations. Modern conditions for children to receive a quality education were created thanks to the "Modernization of the School Education System" program of the state program "Development of Education."

      As reported by the regional Ministry of Education and Science, comprehensive renovations were carried out at Volodarsk Secondary School No. 10, Gorodets Secondary School No. 2 and Pizhma Secondary School, located in the urban-type settlement of Pizhma in Tonshaevsky District. The renovation budgets for these schools amounted to 126 million rubles, 208 million rubles and 185.5 million rubles, respectively. These sums include costs for both repair work and the purchase of new furniture and equipment.

      "The list of mandatory works as part of a school's comprehensive capital renovation includes replacing the roof, updating the building façade, replacing all engineering systems, refurbishing the interior spaces, including replacing windows and doors. Work is always carried out under the supervision of local administrations, school principals and ministry specialists. Thanks to coordinated actions, all three educational institutions were completely renovated on schedule. Teachers, students and their parents are all eagerly awaiting Knowledge Day to see how their schools have been transformed," said Mikhail Puchkov, Minister of Education and Science of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      At Volodarsk Secondary School No. 10, great attention is paid to students' career guidance. According to the school's principal, Larisa Muravyeva, this work is conducted not only as part of the core educational process but also through additional training programs.

      "We have carried out excellent repairs not only in the main classrooms but also in the 'Tochka Rosta' rooms, a classroom with a digital educational environment, and natural science laboratories. It is very pleasing that many recreation areas have also been created for students where children can spend time between lessons," she said.

      A center for digital and humanitarian education of the "Tochka Rosta" profile has also been created at Gorodets Secondary School No. 2. The school principal, Yana Egorova, reported that in the new school year the school will open a resource classroom for children with autism spectrum disorders.

      "It is wonderful that we will have such a class. A modern school is an inclusive school. All children, regardless of health conditions, should have opportunities to study in comfortable conditions," the principal noted.

      Pizhma Secondary School is one of the oldest in the region; it was built in 1933. After the comprehensive capital renovation, it also received 'Tochka Rosta' rooms, a classroom with a digital educational environment, and the classrooms for the subjects 'Fundamentals of Safety and Defense of the Homeland' and 'Labor' were equipped with the most modern equipment. Another pride of the school is the new library, which has been transformed into a true information center.

      "In the summer, when builders were finishing the final touches, our teachers were taking advanced professional development courses. Now we have many more opportunities for students to develop in various fields of science and creativity," said Alena Yakimova, principal of Pizhma Secondary School.

      It should be recalled that creating comfortable conditions for children to receive an education is one of the main tasks of the new national project 'Youth and Children'. The national project is being implemented on the instruction of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin from 2025. It includes nine federal projects and programs: "Russia — a Land of Opportunities", "We Are Together", "Russia in the World", "All the Best for Children", "Leading Schools", "Teachers and Mentors", "Creating a Network of Modern Campuses", "Universities for a Generation of Leaders" and "Professionalitet".
