      In Nizhny Novgorod the heating season may start earlier than usual, Mayor Yuri Shalabaev said.

      As NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" correspondent reports, during an inspection of the readiness of boiler houses for the upcoming heating season the head of the city emphasized that the authorities do not intend to wait for the traditional temperature norm to begin fully supplying heat to residents' homes.

      Thus, from September 2 to 10 the city will start trial boiler startups, and by that time all municipal services must be fully ready to supply heat. The mayor noted that, despite a favorable long-term forecast from meteorologists, city authorities take into account the variability of the weather and are ready to turn on the heating at any moment if necessary.

      "We will not wait for the traditional norm — +8°C for five days. Because you have to consider many conditions: sometimes, even with +15°C outside, if it is raining, people feel uncomfortable. It is already cold and damp. Therefore we take into account a variety of indicators, including people's subjective feelings," Shalabaev stressed.

      Earlier it was reported that the phased filling of the heating networks with water has begun in Nizhny Novgorod.
