      From August 24 to 31, intensive training camps on agrogenetics for high school students of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast are taking place at the Nizhny Novgorod State University named after N.I. Lobachevsky with the support of the regional government. This was reported by ANO "CRO 'Integration'.

      Participants in the program — students in grades 9–10 from Nizhny Novgorod Oblast — will gain practical laboratory experience while becoming acquainted with various aspects of the agro-industrial complex. Such sessions are aimed at stimulating students' interest in the agricultural sector and forming a talent pool for the agro-industrial complex.

      During the camp, students will master laboratory research methods that will be useful for participating in Olympiads and project activities. Participants will learn to extract DNA from various samples, perform PCR, and determine enzyme activity. In addition, participants will learn to work with bioinformatics software and databases, and will propose their own solutions to case studies related to real challenges facing the modern agro-industrial complex.

      The program is conducted with the aim of involving high school students in work on current research problems in the fields of agrogenetics, breeding, biotechnology and related disciplines, and of increasing interest in specialties in demand in the agricultural sciences and life sciences.

      The organizer of the scientific sessions is ANO "CRO 'Integration'" with the participation of the regional center "Vega".
