On 25 August, the final project workshop within the framework of the governor’s participatory budgeting project "You Decide!" was held in the Kstovo district, closing the cycle of meetings dedicated to discussing improvement projects for 2026.

Reminder: applications from regional residents to participate in the governor’s project "You Decide!" are being accepted until 15 September. As part of this stage, 20 project workshops were organized where residents could present their initiatives and discuss them with other participants.

About 60 people took part in the final project workshop, including active residents, members of territorial public self-government (TOS), as well as representatives of educational and social institutions. The event became a platform for constructive dialogue between residents and authorities to identify priority territorial development projects.

"Over 12 years of implementing the participatory budgeting program in the Kstovo district, 197 projects have been completed. Project workshops are a vivid example of close cooperation between residents and the authorities to determine the most necessary projects that truly respond to citizens’ needs for a comfortable life," noted Pavel Postnov, deputy head of the administration of Kstovo.

The event’s speaker was Andrey Solovyov, curator of the governor’s project "Social District Officer," who presented the "You Decide!" project, explained its opportunities and answered participants’ questions.

"Today, with this brainstorming session, we conclude the cycle of project workshops of the governor’s 'You Decide!' project in the Kstovo district. Dozens of civic initiatives have undergone public audit and are capable of receiving financial support from the regional budget in the near future. Their activists are grateful to the regional government for these new opportunities to develop their territories," he emphasized.

A key stage of the project workshops was the participants’ work in groups. Each group was active and engaged. For example, under the "Sport for All" direction a project was proposed to repair the gym of Zhdanovskaya Secondary School. The project’s relevance and social importance stem from the state of the infrastructure: no major overhaul has been carried out for more than 40 years, which poses a direct threat to students’ safety and limits opportunities for physical development. Initiatives were also presented in other areas: "Our Roads," "Our Yard," "Public Spaces," "Our Infrastructure," "Sport for All," "All the Best for Children," "Our Initiative" and "Youth Policy."

"The 'You Decide!' project is important primarily because it provides a direct dialogue between the public and the authorities. Here any resident has the opportunity to propose an initiative and implement their idea for the good of society," stressed Lyubov Prokofieva, director of the MBUK "Centralized Club System" of Kstovo.

Local residents also note the importance of the project.

"The governor’s 'You Decide!' project is very useful. We have seen many implemented solutions for children's sports grounds — they are all modern and meet safety requirements," said Kstovo resident Tatyana Zelenkina.

The best projects presented as a result of the project workshops will be submitted for further consideration for possible implementation.

Note that following the project workshops in Nizhny Novgorod and Kstovo, platforms of the governor’s "You Decide!" project have started operating, where project volunteers are ready to present initiatives to residents and gather their opinions.
