      The 2025 admissions campaign has concluded in Nizhny Novgorod. Admissions this year were conducted under updated rules that made the process more transparent and convenient for applicants, reports nnov.kp.ru.

      As explained by Irina Zvereva, head of the department for interaction with higher education institutions and the scientific-educational sphere of the regional Ministry of Education and Science, changes to the admission procedure allowed applicants to submit documents either in person or via the Gosuslugi portal.

      Applicants could choose up to five Nizhny Novgorod universities and up to five programs at each. Applicants were not required to provide the original school-leaving certificate — it was sufficient to send consent to enrollment at the final stage of the campaign.

      The list of entrance examinations was also revised, which made it possible to establish a more flexible system for assessing knowledge. Special conditions were provided for applicants admitted under targeted placements: participation in professional events organized by potential employers earned additional points.

      Additional advantages were also given to those who scored 100 points on the Unified State Exam (EGE), as well as to winners of olympiads. These measures are aimed at attracting talented graduates and retaining them in the region.

      Earlier, representatives of Nizhny Novgorod universities spoke about how their admissions campaigns went and about new fields of study.
