Master of Sports of Russia in motorsport and volunteer of the "Rys" search and rescue center, Dmitry Ruzhyev, died as a result of a road traffic accident on Steklozavodskoe Highway in the city of Bor. The tragedy was reported on the "Rys" SAR center's social media.
"He was a true comrade who knew no bounds in his desire to help others. Unfortunately, Dima died, leaving behind bright memories and many recollections. We mourn his passing and will remember him as a true friend," the center's representatives said.
Ruzhyev was also a holder of the Russian Rally Cup.
Recall that the fatal accident occurred on August 14 in Bor. A 72-year-old driver of a foreign-made car, while turning left, failed to yield to a motorcycle driven by Dmitry, resulting in a collision.
The volunteer died at the scene from his injuries. He was 36 years old.
Earlier it was reported that RSFSR Merited Artist Sofya Shelmenkina passed away at the age of 79 in Nizhny Novgorod.
