Employees of the chemical-toxicological department of the Nizhny Novgorod testing laboratory of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "VNIIZh" recorded elevated nitrate levels in a soil sample.
The study was conducted from August 5 to 18 as part of fulfilling a state assignment.
Analysis showed that nitrate levels exceed the permissible values established by the SanPiN sanitary rules, which regulate hygienic standards and requirements for the safety of environmental factors.
The obtained data were entered into the automated information system "VESTA".
In addition, information about the exceedance of norms was sent to the Rosselkhoznadzor directorate for the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the Republic of Mari El for appropriate response measures.
Earlier it was reported that nearly half of soil samples in the Nizhny Novgorod Region showed elevated microbial content.
