      The all‑Russian action “Night of Cinema” will take place on August 23 in the Nizhny Novgorod region at nearly 60 venues. The event is being organized for the tenth time not only in Russia but also abroad. This was reported by the Ministry of Culture of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      This year’s film program includes the family fantasy The Wizard of the Emerald City. The Road from the Yellow Brick (6+) and the musical biopic The Prophet. The Story of Alexander Pushkin (12+). Another film to be screened as part of the event is the war drama Blood Type (12+). The film was created as part of the project “No Statute of Limitations” and is dedicated to the heroism of orphaned children during the Great Patriotic War during the occupation of the Leningrad Region by the Nazi invaders, where children’s donor concentration camps were located.

      In Nizhny Novgorod the event will traditionally include the Rekord Cultural Center, as well as the Orlyonok and Burevestnik cinemas, the Zarnitsa film center and the Smena leisure center. In the city of Bor screenings as part of the event will take place at the Oktyabr Cultural Center, in Gorodets — at the Severny cinema, and in Dzerzhinsk — at the Central City Cinema named after I. Izvitskaya. In Kstovo the event will include the A.S. Pushkin Central Library and the Kstovo Puppet Theater.

      Participants will also include screening halls in the region equipped with support from the Film Fund and within the national project “Culture.” For example, free screenings will be held in the Tepliy Stan screening hall in Sechenov, the Mir Cinema screening hall in Pervomaisk, the Zarya cinema in Semenov, and the screening hall of the Sokol sports and recreation complex in Sokolsky.

      Screenings are also planned in houses of culture of the Arzamas urban district and the Dalnekonstantinovsky municipal district, in the district House of Culture in Tonshaev, in the Diveevo Central House of Culture and other houses of culture. In addition, showings will be organized at open‑air venues: in the square of the I.I. Lepse Palace of Culture in Vyksa, in the summer cinema of the P.M. Zernov Park of Culture and Recreation in Sarov, and in the A.P. Gaidar Park of Culture and Recreation in Arzamas.

      Admission to all screenings within the “Night of Cinema” event will be free. Where audience numbers are limited by hall capacity, online registration or distribution of free tickets at box offices may be used.

      Recall that “Night of Cinema 2025” is organized with the support of the Russian Ministry of Culture and the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The event’s operators are Roskino and the Film Fund, and the co‑organizer is the Russian Cultural Foundation. Last year the event’s geography covered 14 BRICS and CIS countries; this time it will be joined by more than 35 states. Among the new countries on the “Night of Cinema” map are Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, South Africa, Indonesia, the UAE, Hungary, Serbia, Slovakia, Angola, Djibouti, Mauritius and many others. For the second time China, India, Brazil, Ethiopia, Egypt and all CIS countries will take part in the event.
