      Police summed up the results of the first stage of the interagency operational-preventive operation "Poppy-2025."

      According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the large-scale operation involved representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as specialists from regional units of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Federal Customs Service and the FSB of Russia.

      The activities took place in the region at the end of July. As a result, 6 criminal cases were opened, and 115 administrative protocols were drawn up related to violations in the circulation of narcotic substances.

      Officers identified 15 cases of illegal cultivation of drug-containing plants. During the raids 23 sites of such plantings were destroyed, with a total area of 6,974 square meters.

      A total of 341 plants containing narcotic substances were seized from illegal circulation. These included 36 opium poppy bushes and 309 cannabis plants.

      In addition, the drug police recorded 139 internet resources that were used to distribute prohibited substances.

      Earlier it was reported that more than 40 kilograms of drugs were found in an underground laboratory in Nizhny Novgorod.
