According to the organizers, VARMSU for the first time submitted applications from 10 municipal formations to participate in the All‑Russian competition "Best Municipal Practice."
This may have become possible thanks to the powers granted by the Government of the Russian Federation. The relevant decree came into force in a new wording on May 14, 2025.
The organization submitted competitive applications for those formations that have not yet participated in the competition or were not winners of the regional stage of the "Best Municipal Practice" competition.
At the same time, the regions were chosen whose experience in municipal practice was highly rated.
"This step once again demonstrates the systematic work of all levels of government, noting the special role of the country's municipal community. This year we submitted applications for 10 regions: the Amur, Kaluga, Nizhny Novgorod, Saratov, Samara, Smolensk, Yaroslavl and Kemerovo oblasts, as well as the Republic of Tatarstan and the Yamalo‑Nenets Autonomous Okrug; next year there will be more," drew attention Irina Guseva, co‑chair of VARMSU, member of the Presidium of the Presidential Council for the Development of Local Self‑Government.
According to the information, VARMSU may submit to the commission no more than 5 competitive applications from municipal formations assigned to the corresponding participant categories of the competition for each of its nominations.
