Society A resident of Nizhny Novgorod paid off more than 2 million rubles in debts after he was unable to sell his apartment due to restrictions imposed by bailiffs. This was reported by the regional branch of the Federal Bailiff Service (GUFSSP).
The 45-year-old man had accumulated debts for child support, loans, utilities and other obligations. Enforcement proceedings were initiated at the Nizhegorodsky District office of the bailiffs. Despite notifications, the debtor ignored payment demands for a long time.
In response, the bailiffs applied coercive collection measures. In particular, the man was banned from traveling abroad and from carrying out registration actions with his real estate. He was also held administratively liable for non-payment of child support and assigned 40 hours of community service.
"The citizen began to pay off his debts only after he wanted to sell the apartment but could not do so because of the encumbrance," the service said.
He then fully paid the child support debt for his 15-year-old daughter in the amount of 1.677 million rubles, and also closed other debts totaling 520,000 rubles. An enforcement fee of 40,600 rubles was additionally collected.
The man continues to pay current child support.
Earlier it was reported that more than 1.5 billion rubles were collected from Nizhny Novgorod debtors for child support in 2024. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has a Telegram channel.
