      The Nizhny Novgorod Regional Information Center presented the documentary film "Brothers by Blood: Nizhny Novgorod Region – Donbass" (16+), which tells about the important humanitarian mission carried out by residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region in the patronized territories of the Donetsk People’s Republic.

      Since 2022 the Nizhny Novgorod region has officially taken patronage of Khartsyzk, and the city has noticeably transformed during this time. Later Ilovaisk was also incorporated into the municipal district, which became possible largely thanks to the support of people from Nizhny Novgorod.

      The film also touches on the tragic events of the summer of 2014. At that time Ilovaisk and Zugres were subjected to massive shelling with the use of phosphorus and cluster munitions, resulting in the deaths of civilians, including children.

      Viewers learn about those terrible days from eyewitnesses who shared their stories with journalists from the NNRIC, hosts of the "Internal Politics" program on radio "Komsomolskaya Pravda - Nizhny Novgorod".

      Today strong ties have been established between the regions despite the distance of more than 1,500 kilometers. Residents of Nizhny Novgorod together with the people of Donbass are restoring social infrastructure, repairing roads, and improving towns.

      "Brothers by Blood" is a story about true human unity, about help that knows no borders, and about the desire to return a peaceful life to people.
