      Drivers at the ambulance station in Nizhny Novgorod will receive compensation for overtime they were forced to work during the period from 2022 to 2024. This was reported by the regional Health Workers' Union.

      According to the union, during the indicated period, especially under the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic, many employees worked beyond the established norm. Although such a practice contradicts labor legislation, the previous management recorded it as so-called "moonlighting."

      After prolonged negotiations between the trade union side and the station management, a decision was made: all drivers who worked overtime will receive additional payments for the specified period.

      The organization noted that the situation has now stabilized. Thanks to the efforts of the station's new administration, the workload on staff has been reduced and additional drivers have been recruited. As a result, the need for moonlighting has disappeared.

      Earlier it was reported that the union put forward an initiative to equip Nizhny Novgorod medical workers with video cameras because of frequent attacks on them while on duty.
