Young actors from the Nizhny Novgorod region, Ekaterina Channova and Vladimir Karpuk, took part in the comedy series "The Healer" (16+), whose premiere will take place on August 11 on the TNT channel.
The plot of the series revolves around Kostya (Denis Vasiliev), a paramedic driver and a crafty conman who leaves Moscow in search of refuge and money.
Fate leads him to a southern stanitsa, where he is mistakenly taken for a participant in the program "Zemsky Doctor". The local residents expect salvation from him, and Kostya will have to wriggle his way out of a difficult situation.
A native of Pavlovo, Ekaterina Channova, a graduate of the M. S. Shchepkin Theatre School, plays Lyolya in the series — a resident of the stanitsa with a strong character and a great attachment to her family. According to the actress, she found both similarities and differences with her character:
"For example, I don't live in a Kuban village, and the customs of the locals are not quite familiar to me. But in my soul I would dream of living like that," she noted.
She emphasized that Lyolya is much more attached to her family and home, and also forgives her chosen one’s weaknesses too often — in this they differ. At the same time Channova believes that both of them have strong characters and know exactly what they want. And another coincidence — Ekaterina's young man is also named Danya.
Vladimir Karpuk is originally from Nizhny Novgorod; he studied at GITIS and the N. S. Mikhalkov Academy. His character is a young man going through a difficult relationship.
The actor noted that his personal experience of breaking up with a girlfriend came in handy for the role.
"And as for the character of the person, of course, this role is about resistance. In life I would behave differently than my character," Karpuk admitted.
Both actors emphasized that the filming was not only a professional challenge for them, but also an opportunity to feel the atmosphere of a southern stanitsa and Cossack culture. Ekaterina Channova noted that she is inspired by the Kuban color.
"I love these people very much, and songs by the Moscow Cossack Choir play in my playlist almost every day," she said.
Vladimir Karpuk thanked director Nikita Andrienko for accurately conveying the spirit of the stanitsa.
"The Healer" also stars Katerina Kovalchuk, Pavel Rassomakhin and Svetlana Permyakova. The series was produced by the film company 1-2-3 Production.
