A Sport master class (0+) in para-karate, timed to coincide with the Day of the Athlete, took place in Shveytsariya Park. The event was organized as part of the All-Russian sports marathon "Strength of Russia." More than 20 veterans of the special military operation — members of the Sports Club of Combat Veterans — took part in the training.

"Adapting SVO participants to life in peacetime conditions is a task set by the President of Russia Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. When we created the Sports Club of Combat Veterans, our goal was to form a community for communication and mutual support, as well as to maintain good physical fitness. For example, all participants in the 'Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region' program automatically become members of the club. The club offers classes that take into account the health and age of participants. And today, for example, a para-karate training session. We chose this sport because it not only trains the body but also strengthens the will. I want to emphasize that more and more places for sports activities are opening in Nizhny Novgorod, and we urge veterans to take full advantage of these opportunities!" — said Evgeny Chintsov, participant of the "Time of Heroes" program, chairman of the Nizhny Novgorod City Duma, and member of the General Council of the United Russia party.

The master class program included an introduction to the basics of para-karate and practice of key elements. Participants were shown the possibilities of adaptive physical training in a practical demonstration.

"Sport is not only physical health and strength. It develops the most important personal qualities: discipline, perseverance and the desire to win. I am sure these skills and abilities will be useful in combat," shared a serviceman participating in the para-karate master class.

Organizers paid special attention to making the program accessible to people with different levels of physical fitness. Under the guidance of experienced coaches, novice para-karatekas mastered new skills and experienced firsthand the effectiveness of sport for physical rehabilitation and social adaptation.

"A number of events are held as part of the work of the Sports Club of Combat Veterans at the Radij sports school. Para-karate is attractive because there is a good methodological base here for people with different levels of athletic preparation, as well as for athletes with disabilities. Within this sport there is a wide range of competitive practice, which will be a very good example for other sports as a basis for methodology," emphasized Vladimir Poddymnikov-Gordeev, deputy of the City Duma and secretary of the local branch of the United Russia party in the Prioksky District.

Para-karate is a direction that opens up new opportunities for people with disabilities, helping to develop physical strength, coordination and self-confidence.

Supporting participants of the special military operation and their family members is a priority area of work and one of the main points of the United Russia party's people's program. This underscores the party's unwavering commitment to providing comprehensive assistance and support to those who defend the country's interests.

As part of the party project "Children's Sport," the regional stage of the 7th All-Russian Festival of Children's 6x6 Yard Football took place at Radij Stadium. Teams in the 2011–2012 birth years age group took part in the competition.

"The regional stage of the All-Russian 6x6 yard football competition has already become traditional in the Nizhny Novgorod Region. It has been held since 2019. Many kids prepare for these competitions from the very beginning of the holidays. Importantly, professional athletes do not participate in the competitions. All teams are truly formed in ordinary yards. And this speaks to the cohesion of children during their summer vacation," noted Vladimir Poddymnikov-Gordeev, deputy of the City Duma and secretary of the local branch of the United Russia party in the Prioksky District.

The competitions are designed to identify gifted young footballers among children and to determine the best children's yard football teams in the region.

      The 2025 prize-winners were:

1st place – FC FORA (Nizhny Novgorod, Nizhegorodsky District)

2nd place – Lesokhimik (Shakhunya urban district, Syava settlement)

3rd place – Vostok (Nizhny Novgorod, Avtozavodsky District)

The winning team will represent the Nizhny Novgorod Region at the III federal stage of the 7th All-Russian Festival of Children's 6x6 Yard Football.

"The tournament is excellent. Wonderful organization, as always. I hope our team will not let us down. At the all-Russian stage we will try to show quality football and represent the Nizhny Novgorod Region with dignity," shared Mikhail Stepanov, coach of the children's football club FC FORA (N. Novgorod).

The festival aims to attract children and teenagers to regular physical education and sports. The sporting event is intended to organize physical and sports recreation for the younger generation during the summer holidays with the aim of strengthening children's health and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

The festival is organized by the Ministry of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the Nizhny Novgorod regional branch of the All-Russian public physical culture and sports organization "All-Russian School Sport Federation" with the support of the United Russia party.
