      In the Avtozavodsky district, a six-year-old boy died as a result of the collapse of an old building, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Nizhny Novgorod Region reported.

      According to emergency services, an alarm was received by the fire department's dispatch. Eyewitnesses reported the incident on Raevskogo Street.

      A father and son were walking past abandoned garages when one of the structures suddenly collapsed. Debris covered the child, leaving him no chance of survival.

      Ministry of Emergency Situations personnel promptly arrived at the scene. Four specialists took part in the response to the collapse and recovered the boy's body from under the rubble.

      The circumstances of the tragedy are being investigated.

      Earlier it was reported that a tourist train had derailed near Arzamas.
