Society A resident of Nizhny Novgorod, Anna P., has refused to leave an emergency building on Svetlogorskaya Street for the third year, despite a decision to demolish it. According to her, during that time, she has repeatedly faced threats and intimidation. As pravda-nn.ru reports, only one family remains in building No. 8/7 — Anna and her 34-year-old daughter. The other residents have already been resettled. The woman claims that she is being forcibly evicted: the gas has been disconnected, arson attacks have occurred, migrants have been settled in the building, and recently she was threatened with physical violence and a power outage. "I am afraid to be at home, to walk the streets. I even hid my daughter so nothing would happen to her. The pressure has been ongoing for three years. I have won all court cases, including the regional court," Anna said. The administration of the Sovetsky district confirmed that the building was recognized as emergency back in October 2020 and is subject to demolition. Anna and her daughter live there under a social rental agreement. Earlier, the Nizhny Novgorod District Court ordered the provision of decent housing within the city to the family, with a minimum of 16.2 square meters. Anna was offered two apartments: one — 29 square meters on 60 Let Oktyabrya Boulevard; the other — 29.8 square meters on Heroes of Cosmos Street. However, the woman refused both options. The case is now again under consideration in court — this time the Sovetsky District Court is reviewing the administration’s claim to evict the family with the provision of other housing. The administration explained that Anna and her daughter can temporarily move into housing from the mobilization fund. To do so, they need to submit an appropriate application. They also stated that no orders to disconnect water or electricity in the house where the woman and her daughter currently reside have been issued. It was previously reported that the head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, was interested in the condition of several emergency buildings in Nizhny Novgorod and requested a report on them.
