Which streets will be closed for the celebration of the 804th anniversary of Nizhny Novgorod

      In the center of Nizhny Novgorod, vehicle traffic will be temporarily restricted for several days in August. The closures are due to preparations and festivities for the city's 804th anniversary.

      The first phase of restrictions will begin on August 5 at 15:00 and last until 23:59 on August 11. During this period, traffic will be closed on Minin Square from Minin Street to the Upper Volga Embankment. The same section will be closed from 00:01 on August 21 to 23:59 on August 24.

      The next phase of closures is scheduled from 00:01 on August 12 until 23:59 on August 16, as well as from 08:00 on August 17 to 23:59 on August 18. On these days, traffic will be stopped on Minin Square from Varvarskaya Street to Georgievsky Descent, and along Georgievsky Descent itself — from building No. 1 to Minin Square.

      Additionally, from 00:01 on August 16 to 07:59 on August 17, several streets in the city center will be closed. Restrictions will include Minin Square, Georgievsky Descent from building No. 1 to the square, and sections of Minin Street, Ulyanova Street, Varvarskaya Street, and Alekseevskaya Street — all of which are from Pisqunova Street to Minin Square. Zelensky Descent from building No. 9 on Pochaisky Ravine to the square will also be closed.

      Detours are possible via neighboring streets. Motorists are advised to familiarize themselves with the changes in the traffic scheme in advance, exercise caution, and pay attention to temporary traffic signs. These changes will also affect public transport routes.
