A recruitment of volunteers has opened in the Nizhny Novgorod region for the ecological project "People of the Shore 2.0"

Nizhny Novgorod residents are invited to participate in a new stage of the environmental project "People of the Shore 2.0," implemented by the Center for Social Projects Support "Changing the World" with the support of the Volunteering Center of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the Ministry of Internal Regional and Municipal Policies. "People of the Shore 2.0" is a continuation of the initiative supported by the Presidential Grants Fund in 2024. The project aims to foster environmental awareness among the population and to practically address water pollution issues. Main activities include organizing a series of ecological cleanup campaigns along the shores, hosting educational events with ecological experts, developing a regional volunteer ecological movement, and implementing responsible nature management practices. "By creating an active volunteer movement, we can significantly increase citizens' environmental consciousness and create favorable conditions for the preservation of regional natural resources," said project manager and director of the NGO CSP "Changing the World" Alisa Shinkaruk. Key events within the project will include specialized clean-up days using SUP boards, ecological expeditions on the Kherzhenets River, a series of educational lectures and workshops. All interested individuals can join the open regional competition "Honestly" for organizing their own creative clean-up activities. "The 'People of the Shore 2.0' project is an opportunity for every resident of the region to make a real contribution to nature conservation. We’re not just picking up trash — we’re creating a new ecological culture where environmental responsibility becomes a personal matter for everyone. Together with professional ecologists, volunteers, and government authorities, we are building a system that not only solves current problems but also prevents their future occurrence," said Maria Samodelkina, CEO of the Volunteering Center of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. To participate, citizens willing to contribute to regional environmental preservation are invited. They will have the opportunity to gain new knowledge and practical skills in ecology.
