Poster: An interactive memorial exhibition "Heroes of the Rear. Pages of Memory" opens in Chkalovsk (12+). The project, prepared by the NOIC media group with the support of the "Creative Practices Team," aims to showcase the cost of victory behind the front lines and preserve the memory of the heroism of local residents.
The central part of the exhibition features over 50 photo reproductions of pages from the "Gorkovskaya Kommuna" newspaper from wartime. These include chronicles of factory labor, rural residents' everyday life, and testimonies of selflessness from those not on the front lines but who contributed greatly to the victory. Each reproduction is equipped with an AR label: by pointing a smartphone camera at it, visitors can see archival footage, hear authentic voices, and bring the pages of the past to life.
Additionally, authentic artifacts found by the Kurgan search team at battle sites will be exhibited at the opening. These finds add historical context and deepen the connection between past and present.
The exhibition is located at the V.P. Chkalov House of Culture (Chkalov Street, 4) and will run until August 17. Admission is free.
On the opening day, August 5, at 14:00, there will be a dialogue with Julia Polyakova, a columnist for the "Nizhny Novgorod Truth" newspaper (formerly "Gorkovskaya Komuna"), and Andrey Dmitriev, a participant in the search movement. Guests will have the opportunity to ask questions, discuss the importance of preserving historical memory, and learn more about the fates of heroes from the Nizhny Novgorod region.
Previously, the exhibition was held at the Central District Library of the Autzavodsky District.
It was also announced that the exhibition "Great Country – Great Victory" (6+) at Manezh has been extended until September.
