No one but them: how the Airborne Forces Day was celebrated in Nizhny Novgorod
On August 2, 2025, at 17:22 [627], Society celebrated the 95th anniversary of the legendary Airborne Forces in Gorky Park, Nizhny Novgorod.
The event began with a rally. Participants laid flowers at the monument of the Hero of the Soviet Union Vasily Margelov, honoring the memory of all soldiers and officers of the Airborne Forces who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland over the years.
Throughout the day, visitors to the park could view an exhibition of small arms and learn about the history of the Airborne Forces. Additionally, everyone was offered soldier’s porridge.
The climax of the celebration was a reenactment of a battle between paratroopers and terrorists, based on the Afghan War.
