The authorities improved the traffic scheme at the intersection of Nakhimov Street and Lenin Avenue.

The updated scheme aims to increase capacity and improve safety. According to the MBU "Center for Traffic Management," the roadway on Nakhimova Street before entering the intersection has been widened. Now, markings indicate three lanes: two for turning onto Lenin Avenue and one for entering the street. Thanks to the new conditions, drivers can turn left from two lanes, which speeds up the passage. Additionally, an extra right-turn traffic light section has been added, increasing the right turn time. The public transportation stop has also been equipped with a dedicated bay, allowing buses to stop outside the main flow and avoid obstructing other traffic participants when turning from Lenin Avenue onto Nakhimova Street. The changes also affected Lenin Avenue itself. Approaching the intersection from Novikova-Priboya Street, the number of lanes has increased from three to four due to re-striping. One of these lanes is now designated specifically for left turns onto Nakhimova Street. The CDL emphasized that comprehensive modernization has made traffic at the intersection more organized and safer. This was facilitated by previous works, including the installation of a new traffic light, the organization of a safety island, and changes to pedestrian movement schemes. It was also reported that Nizhny Novgorod has completed about half of the roadworks under the "Infrastructure for Life" national project.
