Economy From October 1, salary increases will take place for certain categories of government employees in Russia. The indexing will also affect workers in the Nizhny Novgorod region. This was reported by State Duma deputy Alexey Govyorin, as cited by RIA "Novosti."
According to the parliamentary, the salary increase is planned for military personnel, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Guard, the Federal Penitentiary Service, the Federal Bailiff Service, the Federal Fire Service, as well as customs officers and courier services.
Although the recalculation will begin in October, the first payments considering the increase will be made only in November.
The measure is being implemented as part of an adjustment to the current government resolution. Previously, the level of indexation was about 4.5%. However, due to inflation, Govyorin stated, it is planned to increase it to 7.6%.
The increase applies exclusively to the federal budget sector. Decisions regarding salary growth in private companies are the responsibility of employers.
It was reported that the State Duma called for raising the minimum wage to 50,000 rubles starting next year.
