Doctors at the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Children's Hospital have recorded a significant increase in childhood injuries related to road traffic accidents. This was reported by editor-in-chief of the medical news agency "Stationary Press" Aleksei Nikonov in his Telegram channel.
In July, children injured on the roads were admitted to the emergency department almost every day. In total, 81 children sought medical help during the month. Of these, 52 were hospitalized, and 19 patients were diagnosed with severe multiple injuries.
Medical professionals are particularly concerned about statistics related to personal mobility devices. Violations of scooter, mini-bike, and similar vehicle management rules caused injuries in 15 teenagers.
Medicines remind that vehicles such as motorcycles, scooters, and electric scooters pose serious dangers. Operating them requires not only technical knowledge but also strict adherence to traffic rules. Driving without a driver’s license, without protective equipment, and ignoring traffic regulations can lead to severe consequences for young road users.
It was reported that children have caused over 70 traffic accidents in the Nizhny Novgorod region since the beginning of the year.
Earlier, a doctor explained how to protect children from injuries during the summer.
