      In the Nizhny Novgorod region, the Honorary Badge "Honored Donor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region" has been established. The appropriate decision was made by deputies at the Legislative Assembly meeting on July 31. The initiative was introduced by the Chair of the Legislative Assembly of Nizhny Novgorod, Evgeny Lulin.

      The award will be presented annually to no more than 40 residents of the region who have voluntarily donated blood, its components, or plasma at state medical institutions subordinate to the regional Ministry of Health. Candidates should have between 80 and 120 or more donations, depending on the type: blood, its components, or plasma.

      Evgeny Lulin emphasized that donating is not just helping but a manifestation of the strength of spirit.

      "Reaching out dozens of times to help, giving dozens of times a chance at life—this is a daily feat for them. By establishing a regional award, we express gratitude to those whose blood saves lives," he said.

      According to Sergey Abramov, the chief physician of the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Blood Center, 64 people in the region have made over 80 donations of whole blood, and 43 donors have made more than 120 plasma donations. About 100 other residents are close to these figures.

      He noted that the title "Honored Donor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region" will become a meaningful symbol of recognition and will grow more relevant each year.

      It was previously reported that the deputies of the Legislative Assembly of Nizhny Novgorod approved candidates for several honorary titles.
