The authorities of the Nizhny Novgorod region approved the permissible number of wild animals that can be hunted in the region from August 1, 2025, to August 1, 2026. This is stated in the governor's decree posted on the official legal acts publication website.
According to the document, during this period, hunters are allowed to harvest the following species: 2,077 elk, 105 European roe deer, 186 Siberian roe deer, 399 bears, 133 badgers, and 33 lynxes.
The quotas do not apply to federal territories under special protection. The appendices to the document specify the exact quotas for each species depending on the hunting grounds—whether allocated, public, or other territories inhabited by wild animals.
It was previously reported that, starting July 14, 2025, permits for hunting game birds with retriever dogs and hunting birds began to be issued in the region.
