      Investigators of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Nizhny Novgorod region initiated a pre-trial inquiry following a tragic incident that occurred during a swimming competition in Nizhny Novgorod.

      Information about a man's death during the sporting event appeared in the media and drew the attention of the regional investigative department.

      In this regard, investigators from the Nizhny Novgorod district began a procedural check of the circumstances of the incident.

      Currently, specialists are determining the exact cause of the tragedy and examining the conditions under which the competition was held.

      A procedural decision will be made based on the results of the investigation in accordance with applicable law.

      It was previously reported that for the second day, a 14-year-old boy missing while riding a catamaran has been being searched for in the DalnyaKonstantinovsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region.
