      Incidents. An employee of a bank in Nizhny Novgorod became a victim of fraud and lost over 5 million rubles. This was reported by the Nizhny Novgorod Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

      According to investigators, the woman was influenced by an offender who posed as a law enforcement officer. Over several days, he convinced her that unknown individuals were allegedly attempting to take out a loan in her name.

      To prevent "fraudulent activities," the scammer persuaded the victim to take out several loans in different banks. The money received, along with her own savings, was transferred to accounts dictated by the false law enforcement officer.

      The total damage amounted to over 5 million rubles.

      A criminal case has been opened regarding the incident. The identities of those involved are being established.

      It was previously reported that a pensioner in Nizhny Novgorod fell victim to telephone scammers who, posing as police officers and employees of a telecommunications company, extorted half a million rubles from her.
