      In the first half of 2025, the industrial sector of the Nizhny Novgorod region showed steady growth. The industrial production index in the region reached 103.3%, and in the manufacturing segment — 104.7%.

      Thus, the industrial development dynamics in the region surpass the national averages. Across the country, for the same period, the industrial production index was 101.4%, and in manufacturing — 104.2%.

      According to Maxim Cherkasov, head of the regional Ministry of Industry, the most notable increase was recorded in the production of coke and petroleum products — 44.2%. Significant growth was also observed in the output of metal products — 31.1%, machinery and equipment — 21%, transport vehicles and equipment — 14.2%, and furniture — also 14.2%.

      According to the minister, enterprises are managing to increase production partly thanks to government support measures implemented within the framework of national projects.

      Positive trends are also seen in other industries. Computer, electronic, and optical device manufacturing grew by 12.1%, other finished products — by 11.8%, clothing — by 7.5%, textile products — by 5.4%, and pharmaceuticals — by 5.1%.

      The national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy," initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, aims to develop a new model of economic growth. Its initiatives focus on the development of small and medium-sized businesses, increasing labor productivity, stimulating investments, transitioning to a low-carbon economy, and improving the system of state statistics and forecasting.

      It was previously reported that industrial production in the Nizhny Novgorod region grew by 5.3% in the first five months of 2025.
