A resident of the regional center, under the influence of scammers, lost her personal savings and property.

A 69-year-old accountant reported to the duty station of Police Department No. 3 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Nizhny Novgorod. The victim told police officers that from March to July of this year, unknown individuals who claimed to be law enforcement officers and representatives of other control organizations called her, and under the pretext of canceling a dubious transaction and saving her savings and property, convinced her to withdraw 5,000,000 rubles from her accounts and sell her garage for 350,000 rubles. The entire cash amount was transferred by her at various ATMs across the city to an unregistered account in several transactions. Additionally, under the influence of the offenders, the local resident sold her apartment for 4,000,000 rubles, and transferred 1,000,000 rubles of the proceeds to the specified details. The remaining amount of 3,000,000 rubles from the sale was taken by the woman by taxi to the Moscow region, where she handed it over to an unknown man after wrapping it in a plastic bag. The total material damage caused to the victim exceeded 9,000,000 rubles. A criminal case has been initiated by investigators under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of Russia (fraud). The investigation is ongoing. To prevent further transactions involving the victim's property, a court order has frozen the property at the request of the investigator. The police urge citizens to be vigilant when receiving calls from unknown persons. If you are informed of suspicious transfers involving your bank account, call the helpline of your bank and verify the information received. Do not carry out any operations involving your funds at the instructions of third parties. Do not share confidential information about your accounts and personal property with strangers. If illegal actions have been committed against you or your relatives, contact the nearest police department immediately.
