Community The "OMK-Participation" Charitable Foundation, with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives, will hold a free webinar dedicated to creating a unified cultural and educational space in small towns.
The online meeting will take place on August 19 from 11:00 to 13:00. Participants can include government officials, leaders of educational and cultural institutions, employees of non-profit organizations, and all interested parties. During the webinar, the "Big ProGULka" project team will present a technology for transforming urban environments into educational platforms. Using the city of Vyksa in the Nizhny Novgorod region as an example, participants will learn how to establish cooperation between schools, kindergartens, and cultural, public, and industrial spaces in the region.
The ProGUL (Urban Educational Landscape) project will showcase how small towns can become living textbooks by engaging schoolchildren in the learning process through real urban spaces.
The webinar program will also include a presentation of a methodological guide for those interested in initiating sociocultural changes in their city. Participants will learn about the goals, stages, and opportunities for creating an educational urban landscape.
Candidate of pedagogical sciences, deputy director for scientific work at the State Budgetary Institution of the Leningrad Region "Museum Agency," Anna Rapoport, will discuss the value of urban environments for the educational process. Art historian and specialist at the Russian Museum, Alexey Boiko, will share his experience in developing interdisciplinary activities within urban spaces.
Irina Skobeleva, project manager at the "OMK-Participation" Foundation, emphasized that over four years of project implementation, the team has accumulated significant experience they are eager to share. She noted that a key feature of the "ProGUL" project is the close connection between theory and practice: each hypothesis was rigorously tested in real conditions, with results documented and analyzed. Thanks to the involvement of qualified experts, educators, methodologists, sociological research, and ongoing efforts to improve approaches, they have created a unique set of tools that have already proven effective in Vyksa and can be useful in other cities.
