The Nizhny Novgorod region will compete for the right to host the Knowledge Marathon.

A competition has been announced for selecting regional venues to host the educational marathon "Knowledge.First," dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Russian nuclear industry. The event will take place from September 26 to 28 and is organized by the Russian Society "Knowledge" with the support of the State Corporation "Rosatom."

As part of the competitive selection, 10 regions will be chosen to host a large-scale educational program. Guests and participants of the marathon will include prominent government and public figures, leaders of major companies and state corporations, representatives from science, culture, arts, sports, as well as journalists and media experts.

The selection process will consist of several stages. Regions of the Russian Federation can submit applications until August 15. By August 20, the contest commission, comprising specialists and representatives of the Society "Knowledge," will determine the winners. The final list of regions will be published on the organization's official website no later than August 22.

Maxim Drevál, CEO of the Society "Knowledge," emphasized the importance of this upcoming event: "The nuclear industry is one of the key pillars of technological sovereignty and security of our country. Behind its achievements are decades of work by engineers, scientists, and managers. Today, our task is to pass on the knowledge and values accumulated over the years to the youth, which underpin these successes. The marathon will be a unique platform for interacting with outstanding people and inspiring a new generation to achieve their own goals."

It is expected that the marathon will gather over 22,000 young participants from all regions of Russia and other countries. Over three days, more than 125 speakers—ranging from scientists and entrepreneurs to cultural figures, athletes, bloggers, and media personalities—will speak at various venues.

The program will cover key aspects of the nuclear industry: technological breakthroughs, innovations, the peaceful application of nuclear energy in power generation, medicine, urban planning, logistics, space, and other fields. Special attention will be given to professional prospects for youth in this sector.

Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to visit unique nuclear infrastructure facilities—power plants, scientific institutions, and production complexes—as well as familiarize themselves with modern developments and the industry’s history.

The "Knowledge.First" marathon will be part of the international forum World Atomic Week and will become one of the main events dedicated to the anniversary of the Russian nuclear industry.

Let us remind you that the "Knowledge.First" marathon is one of the largest educational initiatives in the country, covering dozens of cities. This spring, it was held in 11 regions, including Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Kazan, Omsk, Sevastopol, Donetsk, Ryazan, Perm, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Vladikavkaz, and Salekhard.
