Two multifunctional sports grounds were built under the "It's Up to You!" project in the Moscow district.

All six projects selected by residents have already been installed in the district. Two multifunctional sports grounds for various activities have been established under the governor's initiative budgeting project "You Decide!" in the Moscow district. These sports facilities are located on the grounds of two schools — No. 172 and No. 64. Earlier, under the same project in the district, two multifunctional sports grounds were opened at Gymnasium No. 67 and School No. 66, as well as two modern playgrounds in the courtyards of house No. 10 on Komintern Street and house No. 18 on Chernyshevsky Street.

First Deputy Head of the Moscow District Oleg Sokurov and City Duma Deputy of Nizhny Novgorod Yuriy Erofeev inspected the quality of the work carried out and assessed the new facilities. According to Oleg Sokurov, the Moscow district completed the implementation of the "You Decide!" project in 2025. "All six objects chosen by residents in the voting have been installed. Today, we checked the readiness of the last two sports grounds. A sports complex has been built at School No. 172, where volleyball, basketball, athletics can be practiced, as well as sports events held. Over 1,200 children study at this school. The kids came to see the construction site and want to start sports activities here as soon as possible,"—said Oleg Sokurov.

Acting Director of School No. 172, Roman Aslezzov, reported that the school had been eagerly awaiting the modern sports complex for engaging physical education lessons. "Our school’s volleyball and basketball teams win prizes annually at city and district competitions. The school offers more than forty extracurricular groups. Physical culture and sports are our priorities. With such facilities, we will have many more opportunities,"—he shared.

While inspecting the sportsground at School No. 64, City Duma Deputy Yuriy Erofeev noted that previously, this site housed an old football field and a basketball court with worn-out asphalt. "Now, a multifunctional sports facility has appeared, which will allow students to engage in various sports all year round," he emphasized.

School Director Natalya Merkulova said that parents of students actively voted for the construction of the site under the "You Decide!" project. "We all closely monitored the construction, asked questions, and exercised control. Our school has a sports club 'Siluet,' where kids practice basketball, volleyball, football, gymnastics, and running. The new sports ground is a great resource for their development. Our students will also prepare for the GTO standards here," she explained.

Earlier, Mayor Yuriy Shalabaev noted that the governor's initiative budgeting project "You Decide!" is very popular among residents of Nizhny Novgorod. "It’s a great opportunity to do something for your courtyard or street, for your favorite park, school, or sports ground," said the mayor, urging residents to actively participate by submitting their applications.

Let us remind you that until September 15, 2025, residents of Nizhny Novgorod can submit an application to participate in the governor's initiative budgeting project "You Decide!" on the website: vam.golosza.ru. In 2026, the project funding will amount to 1.2 billion rubles.
