Investigative authorities have completed the investigation into the criminal case against Oleg Dakhno, the former head of local self-government in the urban district of Shakhunya.

According to the press service of the Investigative Directorate of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Nizhny Novgorod region, the official is accused of exceeding official authority.

Recall that in mid-July, Dakhno resigned prematurely.

According to the investigation, in December 2024, while in the administration building on Sovetskaya Square, the defendant signed resolutions to include several homes in a blocked development in the specialized housing fund and to transfer one of these homes under a lease agreement to orphans and children left without parental care.

It is noted that these decisions were made without the conclusion of an interdepartmental commission regarding the suitability of the specified premises for living, and in violation of established procedures.

As a result of the actions of the former official, housing that did not meet the requirements was provided to children deprived of parental care. These premises are not officially recognized as suitable for residence.

The criminal case with an approved indictment will soon be transferred to the court for consideration on the merits.

Previously, this criminal case was personally overseen by Alexander Bastrykin, Chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee.
