Nizhny Novgorod ranked in the top 5 cities for water-based recreation in July.

      Nizhny Novgorod was among the most attractive destinations for summer water recreation in July, ranking fifth in the rating compiled by the accommodation booking service TVIL.

      Platform experts noted the high level of tourist interest in cities where it is possible to enjoy nature and water landscapes in a calm atmosphere in July. At the same time, megacities like Moscow and Saint Petersburg were excluded from the list — their fast-paced lifestyle was considered insufficiently laid-back for summer leisure.

      The top spot was taken by Kazan. Following it were Krasnodar and Volgograd, which completed the top three.

      Nizhny Novgorod, located at the picturesque confluence of the Oka and Volga rivers, ranked fifth. According to the survey, the average cost of accommodation in the city in July is 5,929 rubles per day.

      The top ten popular destinations also included Irkutsk, Petrozavodsk, Sortavala, Yaroslavl, and Samara. All these cities offer a variety of water-related activities — from strolls along embankments to active water entertainment.
