Incidents The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, has ordered a report on the results of the investigation into the violation of residents' rights in an old apartment building located in Motinal Lane in Nizhny Novgorod. This was reported by the agency.
The property, built in 1896, has the status of regional cultural heritage; however, according to social media reports, the building is in extremely poor condition.
According to residents, the roof is destroyed, the brickwork is crumbling, plaster is falling off the walls and ceilings, structures are deformed, stairs are damaged, and engineering communications are completely worn out. Despite this, service organizations have long failed to take any repair measures.
People fear that the building might be declared emergency and they could be resettled into substandard housing. At the same time, residents claim that numerous appeals to various authorities have been unsuccessful.
A procedural investigation has been organized in the regional office of the Investigative Committee of Russia regarding the facts outlined in the publication.
The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has taken an interest in the situation and has ordered it to be monitored at the agency's central office.
It was previously reported that the Head of the Investigative Committee expressed concern about the emergency state of the Bogoyavlenskaya estate.
