      SocietyEnergy workers at the Dzerzhinskaya TETs commissioned a new water treatment machine for mechanically cleaning the primary water supplied to the power plant. The implemented project will improve the reliability and efficiency of the TETs equipment.

      The three-chamber water treatment machine VDN-2000 with 86 rotating screens has replaced its predecessor, which has been operating at the TETs since the station's commissioning in 1961. The new machine features an advanced control system: now the operator of the onshore pump station manages its operation from a control panel at their workstation.

      "Water treatment machines operate in front of the circulating pumps of the TETs onshore pump station. They remove debris and dirt from the river water stream, which is then supplied to the steam turbine condensers to cool and condense the steam exhausted from the turbines. The presence of mechanical impurities in the cooling water leads to deposits on the internal surfaces of the condenser heat exchange tubes, thereby impairing heat transfer efficiency. The introduction of the new machine will improve water purification. This, in turn, will enhance the overall reliability and efficiency of the power plant," noted Vyacheslav Kupchikh, head of the production and technical department of the Dzerzhinskaya TETs.
