      Society Nearly all households in the Nizhny Novgorod region are connected to the internet, according to the latest survey by Nizhny Novgorodstat.

      Official data show that 92% of families in the region regularly use internet access. In rural areas, this figure is slightly lower but still high — 85% of households are connected to the internet.

      Most rural residents — 79% — access the internet via mobile networks. Wired internet is available in 56% of rural homes, and 37% use Wi-Fi-enabled devices. Additionally, 31% of rural residents access the internet at work or in educational institutions. Outside the home, but for free, 12% of rural residents use the internet.

      Internet expenses remain relatively low. On average, residents spend about 44 rubles per month on wired or wireless internet services. In families with children, the amount is slightly higher — 50 rubles per person per month.

      It was previously reported that Wi-Fi coverage is planned to be expanded in Dzerzhinsk due to internet outages.
