Society By the end of 2025, four additional photo and video fixation complexes are planned to be installed in Nizhny Novgorod to monitor compliance with lane usage rules. This was announced by the Regional Transport Systems Development Center.

Since the beginning of this year, the length of such lanes has increased by 4.4 kilometers, which is a 28% growth. Currently, the total length of dedicated lanes for public transport in the city is about 15 kilometers. After all planned sections are implemented, it will exceed 18 kilometers.

As reported by the RTSC, in July, fixation systems were installed at the most crowded sections: two complexes on Lenin Avenue, and one each on Gagarin Avenue and Beketova Street.

Dedicated lanes for route transport are in use on Vaneeva, Sovetskaya, Beketova Streets, as well as on Gagarin and Lenin Avenues, and also on Moscow Highway and Oksky Exit.

In 2025, the city is implementing new projects to expand the network of priority lanes. One of the longest sections appeared on Lenin Avenue — from Druzby Street to Novikova-Priboy Street. A recently added lane was also created on a busy segment of Vaneeva Street — from Boris Panin Street to Kanashskaya Street.

As Alexander Bachurin, acting director of the Center for Transport Systems Development, noted, cameras play a key role in ensuring the priority of public transportation.

"Cameras help not only reduce violations but also give advantages to city transport. Analysis shows that on segments with photo and video fixation, drivers become more disciplined, which promotes adherence to traffic rules," emphasized Bachurin.

Since the beginning of the year, nearly 30,000 citations have been issued in Nizhny Novgorod for illegal lane crossing. At the same time, a positive trend is observed — the number of violations is gradually decreasing.

It was previously reported that more than 12 million rubles will be allocated for the modernization of traffic lights in Nizhny Novgorod.
