Nizhny Novgorod resident arrested for threatening a traffic police officer

      A man who threatened a traffic police officer with a knife has been taken into custody in Gorodets. According to the joint press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the Nizhny Novgorod region, the man, who had previously been convicted, is charged with threatening violence against a law enforcement officer (Part 1, Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Preliminary information indicates that late on July 9, the Nizhny Novgorod resident was intoxicated in a public place. He behaved aggressively and was being disruptive. When the traffic inspector asked him to stop, the disorderly person began threatening him with violence, then drew a knife. The Gorodets City Court ordered the man to be detained until September 9 inclusive. It was previously reported that the Nizhny Novgorod resident quarreled with his father and stabbed him in the neck.
