In Nizhny Novgorod, there are currently no plans to introduce a ban on the movement of electric scooters and the operation of kick-sharing services. This was reported to NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" by the city administration.

The city hall notes that the municipality continues systematic efforts to create a comfortable and safe environment for the use of personal mobility devices.

Earlier, according to the city mayor Yuri Shalabaev, residents often complained about chaotically left scooters obstructing pedestrians and causing inconvenience on the streets. However, in the opinion of the city authorities, the scale of this problem has significantly decreased recently, although it has not been completely resolved.

The city hall also reminded that specially equipped parking areas for scooters have been established in the city. In case of parking violations, devices are confiscated and taken to a detention lot. Currently, a considerable number of electric scooters are already stored there.

Furthermore, according to the city authorities, the number of cases of improper and dangerous use of scooters on roads and sidewalks has noticeably decreased.

The city administration plans to continue monitoring the situation and, if necessary, adjust the approach to regulating the field of personal transportation.

It was previously reported that a man on an electric scooter hit a one-year-old child in Nizhny Novgorod. Also, it is recalled that a fire caused by an electric scooter led to a blaze in a residential building in Nizhny Novgorod.
