Three more garages will be seized in the Sormovsky district for the construction of the metro.

      The removal of garages in Nizhny Novgorod continues to extend the Sormovsko-Mescherskaya metro line. The latest city administration resolution provides for the termination of ownership rights and usage of three land plots and the permanent garages located on them in the Sormovsky district.

      These are facilities situated in the Kalashnikova street area, on the grounds of Garage Cooperative No. 3.

      Property owners will be compensated for the land plots and real estate in accordance with applicable legislation. The Committee for Urban Property Management and Land Resources is obliged to notify owners within ten days and determine the amount of compensation.

      If owners refuse to voluntarily sign an expropriation agreement, the authorities in Nizhny Novgorod intend to proceed to court. After the transfer of ownership rights to the municipality, the properties will be deregistered from cadastral records and demolished.

      A municipal state institution responsible for metro development will organize the dismantling of garages and ensure safety on these sites until work begins.

      The resolution came into force on the day it was signed and will be valid for three years.

      It is worth recalling that the contract to build a new metro station in the Sormovsky district was signed in August 2022. It will be constructed near Stantsionnaya street, and the project is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

      Earlier, it was reported that the construction of the metro in Sormovo triggered a wave of garage registrations.
