Warning
According to the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Upper Volga Hydrometeorological Service," from July 16 to 21, 2025, sporadically across the Nizhny Novgorod region, high (class 4) forest and peat fire hazard will persist. The likelihood of emergencies related to forest (natural) fires increases. The number of fire hotspots and affected areas may grow, with fires spreading to populated areas and economic facilities.
Public recommendations:
The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for Nizhny Novgorod region strongly urges residents to remain highly vigilant during the fire risk period and to abide by all fire safety rules. When information about high or extreme fire hazard is received, prohibit visits to forests. Do not burn trash on garden and dacha plots. Do not set fires near forests and woodland plantations. Do not light campfires in forests. Do not smoke, throw away burning matches, cigarette butts, or ash from smoking pipes carelessly. Do not leave oily or gasoline-, kerosene-, or other flammable substance-soaked rags in the forest. Do not leave sunlit bottles, glass shards, or other trash in sunlit forest clearings.
If a natural fire is detected, be attentive and cautious; immediately call the fire department. We recommend using the mobile application "EMERCOM of Russia" to receive timely emergency information about forecasted dangerous and adverse meteorological phenomena and emergency situations via the Internet.
