"Over the past six years, more than 150 million rubles have been invested in the modernization of the Bolshemurashkinskaya Central District Hospital," – Andrey Checherin
Boldemurashkinskaya Central District Hospital is one of the best regional hospitals in the area in terms of material and technical equipment. This assessment was given by Deputy Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Region Andrey Checherin following a working visit to the municipality on July 15. "Over the past six years—from 2019 to 2025—more than 150 million rubles have been invested in the modernization of Boldemurashkinskaya Central District Hospital. Of these, over 120 million rubles were allocated for major repairs of the inpatient wards and utility premises, and about 30 million rubles for the purchase of medical equipment. The hospital’s upgrade, of course, does not end here. Plans from 2025 to 2030 include major renovations of the polyclinic, aiming to increase its capacity to 300 visits per shift. Funds for these purposes will be allocated within the framework of the new national project "Prolonged and Active Life,"—said Andrey Checherin. Along with the deputy governor, the hospital’s work was checked by Deputy Minister of Health of the region Tatiana Kovalenko and Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Nizhny Novgorod Vladimir Pakov. The delegation inspected recently renovated food service block and infectious disease ward, where individual "Meltzer" boxes have been created, visited laboratories, the children’s consultation room, functional diagnostics and physiotherapy offices, as well as the X-ray room, which was recently equipped with a new X-ray machine. According to Acting Chief Physician of Boldemurashkinskaya Central District Hospital Vera Makarova, special attention was paid by the guests to the office where the inter-district "School of Patients with Diabetes" operates—its creation last year received about 800 thousand rubles. "In a specially renovated and equipped room, an endocrinologist conducts sessions with both newly diagnosed patients and those living with diabetes for many years. Patients are taught proper nutrition, medication intake, and self-monitoring of their health. Additionally, with the help of volunteers from PIMU, we hold free Nordic walking classes for these citizens, which are very popular," shared acting chief physician. Today, the "School of Patients with Diabetes" at the central district hospital is visited not only by residents of Boldemurashkinsky District but also by those from Knyagininsky, Buturlinsky, and Pervozhsky districts—almost 80 people have completed training since the start of the year. The launch and operation of such "schools" throughout the region are valuable contributions to improving the quality of life for people with diabetes and increasing their life expectancy. According to Deputy Minister of Health Tatiana Kovalenko, Boldemurashkinskaya Central District Hospital, like many other district hospitals in the region, pays close attention to preventive work with citizens. "The hospital handles preventive measures well—since the beginning of the year, over 1,700 residents have undergone health checks, and approximately 600 more have received preventive examinations. It is also encouraging that staffing issues here are practically resolved—currently, the hospital only needs a second surgeon and one of five district therapists," she summarized. It should be reminded that the national project "Prolonged and Active Life" has been implemented across the country since 2025 on instructions from Russian President Vladimir Putin. It addresses tasks previously outlined in the "Healthcare" national project. The new national project aims for an expected increase in life expectancy by 2030 and involves further renovation of clinics, outpatient clinics, feldsher-midwife stations, attracting more qualified medical staff to medical institutions, applying new approaches in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of chronic diseases, improving emergency medical services and rehabilitation systems, developing national research centers, and digitalizing the industry.
