Marina Rakhova has stepped down from her position as Chief Advisor to the Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Region and is transitioning to a new role at the Moscow Institute of Urban Economics. She announced this on her social media page.

Starting July 16, Rakhova will assume responsibilities as head of the department focused on researching the largest cities and agglomerations in Russia. Her main focus in this new role will be on issues of sustainable territorial development.

According to Marina Rakhova, the change in her professional direction is taking place in a calm and positive atmosphere. She is currently on vacation by the sea, reflecting on the six years she spent in the region.

"My love for Nizhny will stay with me forever — I found my second home here and was very happy! I thank my supervisor and colleagues for the daily professional drive — I know for sure that I have grown over these years by two heads above myself," she wrote.

Marina Rakhova started working in the government of Nizhny Novgorod Region in 2019, leading the Department of Urban Planning and Agglomeration Development. Later, this structure was transformed into a ministry, where she continued her work.

It was previously reported that Oleg Dakhno, head of the Mishka district, resigned from his position.
