      PolicyAnalytical Center "G.U.R.U." in collaboration with the information Telegram agency "TeleStream" presented the latest edition of the study "Telegram Index. Effectiveness Ranking of Public Politicians through the Prism of Telegram. June 2025."

      As part of the work, specialists analyzed how often and in what context the heads of Russian regions were mentioned in Russian-language Telegram channels. The research is based on data from a neural network developed by analysts at the center. It records all mentions of key political figures in the messenger.

      Special attention in the report is given to governors and the activity of their personal channels on Telegram.

      Gleb Nikitin, governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, was one of the leaders of the rating at the end of June. His name was mentioned in Telegram channels 16,464 times, allowing him to enter the top five most quoted governors in the country. In the Volga Federal District, he took first place.

      EISI expert and member of the Russian Association of Political Consultants Roman Permyakov, commenting on the results of the study, noted what he called an "unexpected trend." Despite the summer decline in internet activity and disruptions in mobile internet, the total number of mentions of regional heads in Telegram in June increased compared to May.

      Among the reasons for heightened interest in Gleb Nikitin’s figure, analysts cite the holding of major federal events in Nizhny Novgorod. Specifically, the "CIPR" forum, which was attended by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, and the "XII Forum of Russia and Belarus Regions" with the participation of Federation Council Chairwoman Valentina Matviyenko.

      Both events became main drivers of media activity of the governor on Telegram.

      Attention to Gleb Nikitin was also increased by his initiatives, which received broad response in the messenger. These include launching a digital service "Support Measure Calculator for Families with Children" and a resonant proposal to ban vapes entirely.

      Additional interest was caused by reports about drone attack attempts on Nizhny Novgorod region territory, which were commented on by the regional head.

      Among federal Telegram channels that most frequently mentioned Nikitin are "RT in Russian," "Earlier than Everyone. Well, Almost," "Operational Reports," "SILOVIKI," and "Pool No. 3."

      At the regional level, the most active channels were "VOLGA.brief" (41 mentions), "Nizhny Novgorod Arrow" (28), "My Nizhny Novgorod" (25), "RBC Nizhny Novgorod" (22), and "Nizhny Novgorod Truth" (18).

      Gleb Nikitin’s personal Telegram channel https://t.me/glebnikitin_nn gained 299 new subscribers in June and ranked 29th in the federal ranking of regional leaders’ accounts.
